A Volunteer Opportunity!

There is something I'd like to "throw out" to all our faithful volunteers:

As always there is some turnover in our residents at Center House. While we offer "permanent" housing people do move on from time to time. At present we have two aparments that are turning over and soon there will be a third. We have a waiting list and so there are some folks out there that are anxiously awaiting a move in to Center House - a great opportunity for them.

When someone moves out there is some work to be done:

  • We often need to clean out the apartment. While we ask the "exiting" resident to tak their things with them sometimes the circumstances are such that that just doesn't happen. We need to pack up things, and basically empty the apartment.
  • We need to clean the apartment and paint.
  • We need to "stage" the apartment for the new resident so that he/she has a bright and fully furnished new home.

 

While we have in the past hired a cleaning company and painters to help with some of this we'd like to see if we can get some volunteers groups to make it happen - in the name of economy!    

Would you like to help in thise venture? The ideal would be to get different groups to do each part of the process.  If we get a large enough group the task would not need to be overwhelming. Maybe you know someone out there who is not currently a volunteer but might find this to be a worthwhile project.
